AIM ranked #1 out of 17 psychiatric rehabilitation programs in Tennessee in the number of employment placements for the past six (6) years.
AIM served 820 persons in FY2007. A consumer survey reported 93% satisfaction with services.
AIM’s programming success is validated by population need and FY07 outcomes such as:

Increased employment. With employment supports from AIM, 83% of
consumers are demonstrating increased longevity on the job

Increased quality of life. 100% of individuals participating in peer-led
education classes report increased quality of life

Education goals achieved. 89% of consumers achieved education and/or
career goals

Reduced hospitalization. A sample study of 20 recipients of CHI (Creating Homes Initiative) funding report a 95% decrease in
hospitalizations

Cost effective. AIM Center service costs are 73% below the national
average of psychiatric rehabilitation programs. The cost per member is $1800/year, versus psychiatric hospitalization costing as much as $216,000/person/year

Increased wellness. In response to the new life expectancy statistic for the severly mentally ill dropping to an average of 52 years, wellness and recovery programming has been successfully implemented, with 100% of participants reporting improved health.
New Funding Awards
Self Directed Care. Pilot programming paid for through a grant by Advocare of
Tennessee, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Magellan Health Services, Inc., will enable 24 consumers to select non-TennCare funded items and services specifically geared toward enhancing their recovery.
AmeriCorps Tennessee. Funding allows for expansion of critically needed
services in Wellness and Recovery, Employment, and Education.
Every person AIM diverts from homelessness reduces his or her use of other, more expensive emergency interventions and publicly funded services estimated nationally at 12% cost savings. Every person AIM diverts from admission to Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute saves taxpayers as much as $216,000 a year. Every person AIM diverts from jail saves Hamilton County $19,800 per year.
