Staff Services PDF Print E-mail

Our staffing services benefit both prospective employees with mental illness and Chattanooga-area employers. These services begin before a job placement is made and extend well after the employee is hired.

Job preparation services

  • Resume building: We review participants’ job histories and work goals to develop a paper and electronic resume.
  • Vocational counseling: We find opportunities to improve participants’ marketability through training, education or volunteering. We also examine how participants’ short-term career goals help them reach their longer-term goals.
  • Soft skills training: We help participants understand the social aspects of the work environment— interviewing, interacting with coworkers and managers, and maintaining a professional attitude.
  • Job search assistance: We work with program participants to the right job and field for their skills, training and interests.

Scam Alert!

Housing Choice Vouchers and Suspect Websites

At this time, Chattanooga Housing Authority (CHA) and the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) are NOT taking applications for Housing Choice Vouchers, formerly named Section 8 Vouchers.

There are websites that offer to give someone information or sign them up for a voucher. They offer to check credit scores, sign you up for expensive games to play on your cell phone or require a payment. These sites then offer to provide information on how to sign up for a voucher. These websites are not affiliated with Chattanooga Housing Authority (CHA), the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) or the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Since our area housing providers are not accepting applications, these websites CANNOT help anyone get on a wait list or get a voucher. When wait lists open, consumers are not charged a fee to apply or asked to sign up for credit checks or cell phone games.

Protect yourself! Do not provide personal information to suspect websites.

Below are the correct web addresses for legitimate housing sites:

Chattanooga Housing Authority (CHA): www.chahousing.org

Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA): www.thda.org

Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD): www.hud.gov
