We’re proud of our accomplishments, both in business and the lives of our program members. Here is an overview of fiscal year 2011.
The total number of members served all programs is 1,297 with the average monthly attendance at 237.
100% of members reported improved everyday functioning as evidenced by growth in self-sufficiency, education goals or financial independence.
The cost of AIM Center services is 73% below the national average of psychiatric rehabilitation programs. The cost per member is $1,533/year, versus psychiatric hospitalization costing as much as $216,000 taxpayer dollars per person.
Certification from International Center for Clubhouse Development was awarded.

The Education Department had huge student success with 1) 85 participating in adult basic education and GED Preparation; and 2) 193 attended multiple Wellness and Recovery classes.
Employment Resource Center (ERC) placed 51 consumers in jobs while 210 worked on their vocational goals. Twenty-one members graduated from classes in Job Readiness and Wellness Recovery Action Plan for Work.
The Art program served 120 member artists in the following visual mediums: paint, drawing, sculpture, and mixed. An exhibition was held featuring the work of more than 100 member artists. The Sink sculpture titled Mosaic: The Flow was completed as part of a joint project with Mark Making.
The Housing Department served 202 individuals with mental illnesses.
Housing properties managed by AIM include six (6) apartment complexes, one (1) duplex for individuals with mental illness and criminal backgrounds, and one (1) home for a family. All of these properties are subsidized by HUD supporting 71 tenants.
Our Regional Housing Facilitator serving 23 counties achieved record numbers with 1,839 housing opportunities added since 2001 valued at more than $52 million.
Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program has been extended until December 2011. AIM has served 72 individuals (adults and children) since the program started October 2009.
AIM housed 8 homeless consumers using vouchers from three agencies/government entities for a total of 70 vouchers managed by Consumer Housing Specialist.
Emergency Shelter Grant funds kept 51 individuals/families housed and off the streets.
Green Retro-Fit Grant for sustainable rehabilitation was completed at Oxford Place Apartments in the amount of $182,500.
Nine (9) consumers remain home owners through our collaboration with Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union, Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise, and Lyndhurst Foundation.
